I highly recommend this unit if you would like a nearly maintenance free smoker that does it all. Digital therm and smoke control is very easy to use, and there is nothing better than making a trip to the West Village, picking up a pork shoulder, and smoking it to perfection. Bought this for my terrace in New York City. and it is fantastic. The smoker biscuits come in a variety of flavors and are quickly available on Amazon.
my family now prefers my pulled pork over the local restaurants. This thing has turned me into a professional smoker. and WE LIVE IN MEMPHIS.
The food cooked in the Bradley has been absolutely delicious and I recommend this smoker to anyone thinking of buying a smoker.I also purchased a Maverick RediChek Two Probe Remote Thermometer that allows me to read the smoker and meat temperatures from inside the house, and that was a great addition to this purchase. We have already had smoked pork ribs and roast, brisket, and chicken. This is my second venture into smoking food. I have enjoyed smoked meats for years but, aside from a "manual" charcoal smoker that we had years ago that I could never get working right, it is the first time I have been able to smoke my own meats. The Digital Bradley Smoker makes it so convenient and easy.Being able to use the smoke and heat separately allows us to cook other things besides smoked meats outside during the hot summertime in Texas and keep the heat out of the kitchen.
The digital temperature control is wonderful, but the power switch for the smoke is problematic. Bradley knows it's a problem, Why haven't they fixed it.
I can put a brisket in before I go to bed, load the feeder tube with pucks, set the temp and know it'll be perfect when I wake up. We've probably put about 150 pounds of salmon and easily 600-800 pounds of brisket through it. However, she's since come around and we use it frequently -- she actually uses it more than I do. I repaired it with a $1.99 fuse holder from Radio Shack and about 15 minutes of labor -- by no means is this a deal-breaker, but at the price they could have sprung for a more durable component.All-in-all the ease of use of this la-z-que is unbeatable. I've actually had this for nearly two years. My wife initially scoffed at my purchase, suggesting it would only be used a couple of times before it was forgotten. In addition to ribs, turkey legs, sausage, potatoes and even eggplant. My one complaint is that the fuse holder broke about a month ago (20 months after I bought it).
